Mental health issues affect people of all ages and can be influenced by socioeconomic, biological, and environmental factors. Population mental health is at an all-time low—according to Mind Share Partners in 2021, 76% of surveyed employees reported at least one mental health symptom, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported employees’ personal issues can cost more than $1,600 annually in lost productivity.
The Asuris Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides ample opportunity for employers to help employees and their families improve their mental health. We’ve partnered with Uprise Health (formerly Reliant Behavioral Health) since 2003 to provide the EAP: an affordable, comprehensive benefit that supports employees’ mental health by offering ways to address issues such as burnout, absenteeism, substance use and other common issues before they become major problems.
Asuris EAP provides members, dependents, and even non-member housemates with the following services:
- Short-term counseling, provided virtually or in person without the claims cost
- Assistance with referrals to in-network providers for long-term counseling
- 24/7 crisis support via a toll-free crisis line or computer/text messaging
- Online resources, including peer support groups, webinars, monthly newsletters, self-directed courses, stress reduction tools, healthy recipes and more
- Discounts and resources for life-balance support including 25% off professional mediation, accounting, tax preparation and legal services
Employer training, management support, critical incident response and more
Leveraging the Asuris EAP, employers can help their workforce improve their mental health while saving money. A report published by Mind Share Partners showed that EAP programs decrease employee absenteeism by approximately 55%. A study conducted by Benefits By Design showed that through early intervention and a reduction in high-cost claimants, EAPs produce an average ROI of approximately 3:1 for small group employers, and up to 9:1 for large group employers.
The EAP is embedded for all fully-insured groups of 1-50 and is available as a buyup to fully-insured and self-funded groups of 51+. Share the flyer below with your groups to urge those who have the EAP to utilize it fully, and those without an EAP to strongly consider adding it upon renewal.
